Meridian Environmental Consultants Ltd (MEC) are committed to an evidence-led and common-sense approach to containing the coronavirus outbreak and mitigating its impact on employees, customers and our wider business operations. During this unprecedented time, our highest priority is the wellbeing of our customers and team members. Like most businesses, we are continuing to monitor the coronavirus situation closely and adapting according to government advice.
We wanted to let you know about the steps we are taking to ensure we provide a service that is as close to ‘business as usual’ in order to support our customers throughout this uncertain period. For example, MEC have the ability to carry out remote occupational exposure assessments to hazardous substances using validated and recognised models to identify chemical hazards and estimate and control exposure. This approach helps mitigate the need to carry out a site visit. For more information regarding this remote service, please contact MEC.
We are provisioning our employees, including our consultants, with the technology to enable them to work from home should the need arise. For staff who, by necessity, need to work within our office we have introduced further robust cleaning routines in line with government advice.
We have informed all employees of the government social distancing guidance to reduce interactions. All staff in the workplace are avoiding public transport and we are not holding group meetings. We have restricted visitors to our office to couriers, essential staff and urgent visitors only and have procedures in place.
Our team are able to communicate and operate with customers via phone, email and video calls to reduce non-essential travel. When supplying occupational hygiene services where a site visit is necessary, we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of all personnel involved based on the most up to date government advice. We are flexible and adaptable in our approach to best support our customer’s requirements.
A key concern is to assure our customers that we are committed to supporting all businesses where health and safety protection is an issue. Occupational hygiene risks in the workplace is always our number one priority and no-one should ever feel it is something they have to compromise on.
We’re here to help and we can discuss all of your options. Please also remember our impartial advice is always free and unlimited.
