Neil Davey  

BSc (Hons) DipOH LFOH CCP (Asbestos) MFAAM

Neil is a professional occupational hygienist with over 20 years' experience in consultancy at senior, management and director level, as a specialist inspector with the Health & Safety Executive and as an occupational hygiene leader with a global conglomerate. He is a Licentiate Member of the British Occupational Hygiene Society’s (BOHS) Faculty of Occupational Hygiene and a Member of the BOHS Faculty of Asbestos Assessment and Management. He has also served as a Board Member with the BOHS Faculty of Occupational Hygiene.

Neil is MEC’s Co-Founder, Managing Director and Principal Consultant and has a broad range of experience in:

  • Global, EU & UK health and safety legislation, regulatory inspection, investigation and enforcement;

  • Expert witness for civil litigation cases, providing the courts with independent and authoritative evidence on asbestos related diseases and other occupational diseases;

  • Recognising, evaluating, controlling and managing chemical, physical and biological agents in the workplace;

  • Writing and implementing global, regional and national policies, programmes, technical standards and guidance;

  • Training employees to global, regional and national standards; and

  • Working with integrity at the highest level.


Neil’s knowledge, experience and professional judgement in occupational hygiene and asbestos will ensure that you receive the right proportionate advice and support, helping you to prioritise health risks and allowing you to really focus on control solutions that not only comply with H&S legislation and promote your business, but more importantly protect your employees.

Neil served with 3 Commando Brigade as a Royal Marines Commando and thus MEC's charity of choice is The Royal Marines Charity. Commercial Director

Joanne has over 30 years' experience working in the Travel, Tourism and Aviation business sectors.  Her commercial management expertise is extensive and in summary includes tour operations sales and marketing, airline crew management & training and Aviation Academy founder, senior lecturer and commercial manager. Joanne's key skills are:

  • Developing, planning and implementing commercial plans and strategies

  • Implementing new customer acquisitions

  • Accelerating company growth and direction

  • Establishing, fostering and managing public and private sector collaborative commercial projects and training programmes

  • Developing educational syllabus and lecturing in aviation business management programmes

  • Managing client relationships

  • Tracking, analysing and managing expenditures, financial goals and budgets

Joanne is responsible for MEC's commercial operations and will manage and support your day-by-day business to business requirements. Key to her role is to provide you with a seamless, efficient and effective customer service experience and outcome.
